Cold. Wet. Exciting! This is how the day went in a nutshell. If you have wanted to go to Wilsons Promontory then just do it. I took Josh down there for his birthday in May and we both loved it, even though it rained all day and we did have to cut the trip short by almost 4 stops but overall the trip was still very nice. A fair warning as well, since this is a national park you must leave your four-legged family members at home, it is a shame but hey we do need to protect the glorious parts of this country sometimes so I get it.

Squeaky beach

The first stop on the road trip was the one and only squeaky beach, it is one of the last stops you can make before going all way the down to the point. The sand was wonderful, the rain was only spitting lightly at this point and the weather overall wasn't that bad. A bit cold but nothing a rain jacket and long pants couldn't fix. Josh spent the entire time here trying to figure out how to climb the huge rocks (Don't worry, we left before anybody got injured) but even though I had to watch him like a hawk he still enjoyed his time here.

Whisky Bay

The second and sadly last stop of the day was at a quiet beach called Whisky Bay. It was a slight walk from the car park, it took us about 5 minutes to walk. The beach had an amazing viewpoint, we were very lucky to be able to get up there, the pathway up was only sand and a couple of wonky steps and since it was raining basically all day we were very careful not to fall over while walking up.

Josh and I spent a while at this beach, we just walked near the end before the wind started picking up and we needed to head back to the car since the wind was throwing me around. The wind picking up the sand and throwing that everywhere was incredibly pretty and memorizing to see so we walked back across the beach slowly just to enjoy the last few moments with the dancing sand.

The wrap-up: Wilsons Promontory Victoria

Now as much as Josh loved the cold and wind of Wilson's on this not-so-bright afternoon I believe it would be a better idea to wait until spring or summer before coming down since it is mainly beaches so you would get the most of it when it isn't cold and wet. Josh enjoys doing outings in this sort of weather but I enjoy the beaches when it is hot and sunny so this is for sure one of the many places we will be returning to sometime in the near future.

Now just another reminder, Wilson's Promontory is not pet-friendly as it is a national park so make sure your furry friends stay home for this trip.
