Our first travel day went pretty well considering the weather wasn't great. The plan was to leave and head to Ha Long Bay around 8am but due to a few issues it was only slightly later.
The bus ride was only 3 hours long with a stop in the middle that went for about 30 minutes, at the stop we walked around the market and had a lot at all the hand made art and jewellery. All of it was so pretty!
When arriving in Ha Long Bay we got onto a boat through Osasis of the Sea and the arrival crew was fantastic! Lunch was up first with a few amazing plates of sea food and meat. We were lucky enough to try some squid and duck which are 2 foods I've never had before as well as prawns, mashed potato, salads and ended it off with some fresh fruit.
Kayaking! God this brings back memories of Thailand, we went pretty far from the main boat into a remote location that had nobody else and I'm pretty sure not many other tours use this spot so sorry no beans are being spilt around here. We went through a rock tunnel and were greeted by the best surrounding islands and were just floating around for about 40 minutes before we headed back to the boat.
Dinner time! On the boat we got served seafood and meat and of course heaps of veggies and fruit, we sat at the same table but omg it was still the best dinner. After we ate Bevan and I just went to our room to have an early night but instead we found out our roof was leaking so we had Annelise and some of the crew come and fix the roof, so much for an early night...
