Temple day! Today was a huge day, from temples and the big buddha to eating a scorpion it was for sure a hectic day to say the least.
The beginning of the day started with a tour of 2 temples with our fantastic tour guide James Bond. The first temple he took us to was a Buddhist temple called Wat Chana Songkhram Rajchaworamahavihan. This temple was stunning, here as a group we all got blessed and said prays. Josh and myself, as well as one of the men from the group were chosen to give a monk a few items such as clothing, medicine and a small amount of food.

The second temple we were taken to was called the Grand Palace, this is also where the Big Buddha is, that thing was so big! They actually built the room around the Buddha. The Buddha is painted gold and it such an amazing experience to be in that room looking at it honestly, when we went there was a huge crowd sadly but we did make the most of it. Just like all temples you must take your shoes off and carry them with you, monks believe that the dirtiest part of the body is the foot so in order to keep these places looking great as well as keeping as respectful as possible you must remove shoes and keep your shoulders and knees covered (if your a women).
Once we saw the temples and explored the grounds a little more we went out for lunch at a really nice Thai/ Indian restaurant before heading back to the hotel for a few hours rest. Josh, myself and one of our friends Leah went and did some shopping, got ourselves some really nice elephant pants and Josh got himself a nice button up shirt before heading back to the room for a nap.
Dinner today was only a short walk away from the hotel and it was this really nice Indian restaurant hidden in the back of a marijuana shop (Marijuana is legal in Thailand! There is shops everywhere for it) and I want to say that this was some of the best Indian I've had in my entire life. The meat fell off the bone, the rice was fantastic I honestly can't fault the food or the place. After dinner we all did a bit of dressing up and karaoke, some of the group did a bit of vaping and joint smoking and once we were all done we headed down the road to a bucket bar.

I'm not even joking, this bar literally sold alcohol in buckets. It was a lot that's for sure. We got sat right next to a few subwoofers so nobody could hear each other, everybody was ordering drinks but since they didn't serve mocktails Josh and I sat this night out. While the group waited for their stupid-sized drinks we bought some wristbands from a lady, we got the person beside us the worst one we could think of.

It made us all laugh and as the bands were getting passed around we were all trying some scorpion. In my opinion, try it, to me it really didn't taste like anything it was just really crunchy. After a while Josh and I got sick of the loud music and my hand was starting to play up so we headed back to the hotel for an early night, on the way back we walked past a food stall selling alligators which looked really gross but anyway, tomorrow we have cooking and our long-awaited overnight train. Good thing we called it early today.
