Day 10: Thailand (Ko Phangan - Ko Phi Phi)

Today we left the amazing island of Ko Phangan and made our incredibly long journey over to the Phi Phi Islands. The journey was 2 ferries and a long drive in the middle, in total the full journey took about 7 hours from memory and as it turns out I really suck at being on a boat for that long. The first one was okay, but the second one almost killed me, I have never gotten sea sickness until we went on this Thailand trip. Must be something in the air honestly.

We arrived at Ko Phi Phi in the late afternoon so Josh and I went and relaxed in our room having a nap before heading out for some dinner at a really nice restaurant with the group. The dinner was fantastic, the atmosphere was just so amazing and we all had a good time, though most of us were basically half asleep by this point in the day it was still very good just to get some food into our bellies. 

Dinner was only a small walk away from the hotel we were staying at and it was a mix between Asian and Western foods so a few of us were incredibly astatic to get something without rice for a meal. Josh and myself got burgers and even though they weren't the best we have had it was honestly just nice to have food without a side of rice. I think both of us were starting to become a tad-constipated…

Once we all got as much food as possible into us our group leader Sarah took us down to the beach side and we watched a fire show. The highlight of the evening! I 100% recommend that everybody see one when they visit the islands, it was so worth it. Josh and I were so lucky, they seated us right in the front and centre so we could see everything it was so magical. The show itself went on for about 90 minutes and it concluded soon after they brought a few members of our group up onto the stage to light cigarettes while they were in their mouths! The actors were so good!

The fire performance was one of the highlights of this section of this trip, if you are planning a trip to Thailand please please please go to the Phi Phi islands, this is something you need to experience first hand. It blew my mind and I really think you will enjoy it.
