The upgrade from using family suitcases to getting my own
Ever since I can remember I have always used my family's spare suitcases on holidays because we had spares and I never really wanted to get my own. Until I got them gifted to me. For my 18th birthday back in 2020 I had my mother pick out some awesome-looking suitcases from Antler and it's good to say that I was not only very happy with these cases but over the moon on getting cases of my own. Since suitcases cost an arm and a leg, I always wanted ones that were durable and would survive long-distance travel and it's safe to say I found that in these cases.
The cases over the last three years
These suitcases only had their first true long-haul trip in 2023 but I have used them a few times to move clothing between houses and to a temporary home with a few old friends back in 2021 and for those small trips the suitcases lasted, no wheels got lost, nothing brock and the locks were amazing both times. The first official trip I took these cases on was to the United States of America where I had my incredibly belated schoolies trip through a fantastic company called Magic Happens Here these girls were the best honestly, we did have a few issues but I will be addressing them in a different blog post.
But anyway, on the way to the USA, these cases held up well with no issues, on the way back when I collected my luggage from Tullamarine I noticed the side of the back was bent inwards and I was devastated knowing I would never be able to bend it back into shape but by the time I got back to my house the dent in the side of the case fixed itself as if it was never there which was honestly very surprising.
More features
These cases in my opinion are just like every other suitcase I have used, lots of space, extendable and with a zip pouch on one side of the case. But the quality compared to some of the cases doesn't even compare, these are light and with the few times I have used them really well, they have never let me down, the locks though. They are very very stubborn, the day I first changed my code on my large suitcase it locked and I couldn't get it open, even after using the reset code on their website. I ended up getting it back open with a SIM card opener I had lying around but ever since then, I haven't had another issue so my thought is that because it was my first time using the locks maybe there was a bit of dust or just general buildup in the mechanism due to sitting in storage all through COVID-19.

The wrap-up: Antler Suitcases
My end thoughts and opinions on these brands and these suitcases are yes! I would highly put that extra money aside and buy the more expensive brand, in this case of course I didn't pay for the cases but it wasn't hard finding the cost online and if I had to myself, I wouldn't even looked at it the brand let alone buy from them. The brand is so out of my budget range so getting these as a birthday gift was phenomenal and I am very grateful for them. The suitcases are so sturdy and bounce back after being knocked around, just keep an eye on the pesky lock system and make sure you aren't locking your items in there before you go away on holiday.
