A Perfect Birthday: Roses, a Mansion, and lunch with Bevan

This year, my birthday was extra special, thanks to Bevan. We started the day with breakfast pancakes at the pancakes kitchen before we headed up to Werribee to have a peaceful stroll through the beautiful Victoria State Rose Garden up. It was the perfect way to start the day even though there wasn't any roses blooming yet.

We took a small walk around with the few flowers in blossom, admiring the beauty around us and taking some photos along the way. It felt like a serene escape from the everyday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day.

From the garden, we made our way to the nearby mansion. I’ve never really been the type to be fascinated by old houses and their histories, but this one did not disappoint. Walking through the halls and peeking into perfectly decorated rooms transported me to another era. The architecture and intricate details were breathtaking, with every room offering something unique to admire. Bevan and I wandered through the mansion, imagining what life must have been like for the people who once lived there. It was like stepping into a little slice of history, which made the experience all the more memorable.

After soaking in the beauty and history of the garden and mansion, it was time for lunch, and Bevan had the best burger place in mind, Burgatory. I had heard amazing things about this place, but sadly it didn't quite live up to the hype. The place was casual and fun, and the menu was packed with mouthwatering options. I went for something a little out of my comfort zone, a hot and spicy crispy chicken burger with a mango chili sauce. Bevan, found his perfect burger too, and we both sat in silence and shoved food into our mouths. It was the kind of lunch that leaves you full but completely satisfied, and we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the whole time.

All in all, this birthday was everything I could’ve hoped for. Spending the day with Bevan, surrounded by beauty, history, and incredible food, made it one to remember. I’m so lucky to have him by my side, and I can’t wait to see what other adventures we’ll share in the future!
