On our way back from the best Southeast Asia trip we have been on in a few years. Our flights home had an 18-hour layover in Malaysia. Since we tried to make this trip as cheap as possible our flights were split up with this horrendous stopover in the middle that we couldn't avoid so instead Josh and I took this as an opportunity to see another country and experience a few more new things before going back to boring lives.

Our flight got in relatively late on the 27th so we took a grab over to the Petronas Twin Towers to see them in all their glory at night. OMG, I didn't realize how tall they were, those buildings were so big and the lights on them were incredibly bright. Upon arrival the both of us were lost, we had no real idea of where to go honestly, we walked in a real bad zig-zag line around the building to try and get some nice photos while we had scammers try and talk to us every single step we took asking to take our photos. Those people are definitely something you want to avoid since they are known to overcharge you for photos and even sometimes even force you into photos so you have to pay them. Just got to be super alert and on point with your surroundings. Overall, the town buildings were stunning and I highly recommend going to see them in person, at night is so nice but I'm sure seeing them during the day is just as good.

After seeing the Twin Towers we walked away to try and find some free wifi as we didn't see the point of getting a SIM card or anything for not even a day's worth of travel here but we came across a really nice hotel that offered us wifi for us to call another grab to our hotel for the night.

The hotel we ended up staying at for the night really wasn't that nice, it smelt funky and the owner was so rude to us for being a late arrival even though we emailed them prior to confirming that it was okay with them. The photos online were nothing like what we walked into either so it was just a disappointing experience all up. No air con, smoke filled the hallways, and the owner lacked all respect they couldn't even look at us without telling us off for things we hadn't done and if it wasn't for the fact we were only going to be there for a few hours we would have walked out on the spot. The hotel we stayed at was called the Batu Caves Business Hotel. For us, we won't be going back, purely on smells and the owner but I suppose that's what you get for going cheap and close to attractions right.

Waking up this morning we zoomed and packed everything so fast into the one bag we had on us since the big bag was checked language. We got up and skipped breakfast and as soon as we were ready we flew out of the door, past the owner and headed towards the Batu Caves. And I must say, the stairs were stunning. The photos you see online really don't do it any justice, they are wonderful. We had plans to stay a few hours and do the caves but since we are both such stress heads we ended up leaving early.

The Batu Caves (stairs in our case) were incredibly steep, I'm not much of a step person but it was worth it to go up and down them for the experience.

After about an hour we began heading back over towards the airport, make sure if you ever go to Kuala Lumpur you know how to get around the airport, this was honestly a nightmare for us to figure out.
